About The Trip
The Annapurna Ghorepani – Poon Hill Tours or the Annapurna Sunrise Trek is also known as the Rhododendron Trek if done during the spring time when the whole rhododendron forest is in full blooming. This low-altitude trek enables you to enjoy the breath-taking scenery of some of the highest Himalayan peaks. From the terraced rice-fields above Pokhara, the trek goes along good trails through picturesque Gurung villages and the world’s biggest rhododendron forest which, in spring, bursts with in many different hues. Although a short course by general standard, it however offers superb Himalayan views including the Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Mt. Fishtail (6998m), Nilgiri (7041m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna II (7239m, Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), LamjungHimal (6988m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Tukuche peak (6920m )and many other surrounding peaks

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 m)
Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by Natural Tours representative and transferred to hotel. After check in, you can either take a rest or hang around in the city depending on your interest and time constraint. In the evening, there will be a pre-trip discussion, introducing with your Tour guide. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions related to the tour program. Overnight in hotel
Day 2: Full Day Kathmandu Sightseeing
Today after breakfast, we start a guided sightseeing to historical and spiritual sites in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites that include the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Boudhanath) which is one of the largest Stupa in the world. And transfer to Nagarkot
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara or Fly to pokhara
Early wake up to view the sunrise and later after breakfast drive to Pokhara (6 hrs) reach Pokhara and check into the hotel, evening boating on Fewa Lake (1 hrs.) and visit the Taal Barahi temple, evening at leisure to explore the lakeside market. O/N at the hotel
Day 4: Drive to Birethanti (1 hrs), & trek to ulleri (2073m) 4 hrs.
After breakfast drive to birethanti, a large and prosperous town beside the modi river, we are heading up the main trail to Ramgai and Sudame where we climb gradually up the side of the valley, reaching Hile (1495m) before pushing on to tikhe Dhunga (1575m), from here the trail crosses a stream (bhrungdi khola) and then ascends a steep stone staircase to the large magar village at Ulleri. Overnight at lodge
Day 5: Ulleri to Ghorepani (2850m) 5hrs
After breakfast we can start to trek through rhododendron (Nepali National flower) and oak forest and across streams before making a short, final climb to Nangethant, from Nagethanti you heading up to Ghorepani. Today we will see some birds and some animals too. Overnight at lodge
Day6: Ghorepani to poon Hill to tadapani (2520m) 5hrs
An early in the morning start to hike to poon hill (3210m) leads you to a brilliant spectacle, this advantages point provides an unobstructed view of sunrise over the high Himalayas, from there we can see not only the sunrise but also the panoramic views of Himalayas including Mt. Dhaulagiri(8167m), Mt.Annapurna (8091m),Mt.Nilgiri(7040m) Annapurna south(7219m), Annapurna II(7937m), Annapurna III(7555m), Annapurna IV(7525m),Himchuli(6441m),Fishtail or Machhapuchhare(6998m), lamjung Himal(6986m),Tukuch peak(6920m),Dhampus peak (6012m) among others. One can also see various kinds of butter flies and enjoy with the blend of culture and traditions of various ethnic groups such as bramin, chhetri, magar, gurung and making the trips to this area we are trekking start and end in pokhara. After spending time about 45 minutes on the top of the poon hills, we came back down lodge to have a hot and fresh breakfast, and start trek to tadapani from the ghorepani the trails climbs along ridges and through oak, juniper and laliguresh forest to deurali (2960m), we can descends to reach next place or destination Banthanti, before winding the way to tadapani (2540m). Overnight at lodge
Day7: Tadapani to Ghandruk (1950m) 4hrs
After breakfast we can start to trek through the forest with mountain views and the dense forest. Then we reach the ghandruk village around noon so we can visit gurung village, gurung museum, as well as take time to explore the village, overnight at lodge
Day 08: Ghandruk to pokhara
Ghandruk-Pokhara. After about 5 hours downhill trek we reach Birethanti, from where we drive to Pokhara. O/n at hotel
Day 9: Full day Pokhara Sightseeing with sarankot
After breakfast proceed for sightseeing (Includes visit to Devi’s fall, Gupteshwor Mahadev cave, Seti river gorge, Vindhiyavasini temple) evening at leisure for visit to the market and shopping etc. O/N at the hotel
Day 10 Drive back to Kathmandu
After breakfast, check out from hotel and drive back to Kathmandu valley from pokhara. In the ways we see the natural resources, flora, rivers, water fall and forest etc. transfer to hotel and evening free for personal work. O/n at hotel
Day 11: Final Departure
After breakfast, checkouts from hotel and transfer to Airport fly to onward destination.
